Pure art on her body shoot; relation model and photographer

My model was looking forward to get her awesome tattoos photographed for a long time before we actually got together and did the shot. The reason she didn`t got them photographed before was the simple fact that she didn`t fell comfortable with the other photographers that approached her for this semi nude shoot.

Is that a big thing? Yes, I think so to be honest. The way your photo`s will turn out to be is a direct product of the relation between the model and the photographer. In this case we had an instant match of trust, which for me is the most important thing in model photography. You won`t be able to catch that inner emotion of your model if there is no bonding between each other. And this relates to all model photography, not only for intimate shoots like boudoir or (covered) nude.

In this case it was important to listen to her wishes upfront and made sure I got the whole picture of what she wanted to see in the end result.

We started the shoot with some small talk and some test shots, we did several poses where she and I could try things out and see the result on the back of the DSLR until we were satisfied with the result. Minimum alterations were needed in post processing, which led to a very relaxed and natural result.

I`m trying to make this my specialism in the future: going for the soul of the model.
